If you're a business owner in New York or Pennsylvania, you understand that marketing is the best way to get the word out about your products or services. Now more than ever, there are so many options you can choose from. But the key is to find the one that will work best for you.
Every business needs a different approach. Let's talk about the different types of marketing you can start doing right now to get your business name out there.
Social Media Marketing
Social media marketing is one of the most important methods because just about everyone is on some type of social platform. Facebook is among the most popular, but let's not forget Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and others.
Your Facebook page should be as engaging as possible with current posts that you share frequently. These can be posts of your own, or they can be articles you've shared from reputable sites. Instagram is a great place to share photos and videos that can pull people to your website to learn more. If your business is crafty, or if it fits your audience, you might also want to consider Pinterest. Finally, Twitter may open up a whole new set of customers that you aren't able to reach with other social media channels.
Blogging
I love to talk about the importance of blogging because it is vital to the growth of your business. Blogging has several advantages, such as:
· Allowing you to have fresh, new content to share on social media.
· Providing you with a way to update your website regularly for Google.
· Giving you a chance to put those all-important keywords to use to help people find your business.
Blogging is an art form in and of itself, and it's important to do it right. When you do, you'll create a lot of buzz about your business both online and off.
Email Marketing
Does your business have a regular newsletter that goes out to your customers or potential customers? If not, it really should! People look at their email every day, which makes it a perfect way to reach them.
Your newsletter doesn't have to be long, but it should be interesting. For example, you could add any of the following:
· Updates on your business/products/services.
· Facts about your field that others might not be aware of.
· An inside look at your day-to-day operations.
There are some great programs online that can help you automate much of your newsletters. They are a great way to keep your business name in front of people's eyes and minds on a regular basis.
There are several more types of marketing you might want to consider as well. We'll talk about them in Part 2!
