We talk about lots of different marketing options in our blog posts, but most of them are online. Today, we want to cover some offline methods of marketing your business.
Don’t get us wrong - advertising on social media and through your website is vitally important. But depending on what type of business you have, that might not be the only marketing option you should utilize.
Let’s dig a little deeper, shall we?
What is Online Content?
Online content is anything that people can access while they’re using the Internet. It includes:
Web pages
Sales pages or landing pages
People spend an incredible amount of time online. In fact, statistics show that Internet users spent more than 415 minutes online a day on average in 2021. That’s close to 7 hours per day!
Yikes.
It’s no wonder marketing your business online is so important. But that doesn’t mean businesses can or should skip out on offline marketing.
Offline Content
Offline content pertains to anything you use to market your business without the use of the Internet. This might include:
Business cards
Your business logo
Pamphlets and flyers
White papers
Sales letters
Print newsletters
Just about every industry out there can make good use of all of the above. It’s important to consider your target audience when deciding whether to market online or offline.
For example, one of our long-term clients is the International Thunderbird Club. They’ve been clients of ours since 2013, so almost the whole time we’ve been in business. Many of the club members don’t spend a lot of time on the Internet.
For them, having a print newsletter is vitally important. The members look forward to receiving it every other month. The newsletter is really more like a magazine (at 56 pages long), and it’s filled with stories and pictures from club members.
We also produce another newsletter for the North Texas Mercedes-Benz Club four times per year. Most of their members are online, and so, the newsletter is sent out electronically.
So How do You Choose - Offline or Online Marketing?
The best way to choose how to market your business is to consider your target
audience. Where do they spend their time? What media do they consume the most? Once you know the answers to those questions, you’ll know where to target your advertising dollars.
