How to Boost Sales with a Last-Minute St. Patrick’s Day Promotion

Full disclosure - we forgot that today was St. Patrick’s Day. Unless you’re of Irish descent, or you own and operate a restaurant, you may have forgotten too.

For a business owner, that can be a problem.

One of the best ways to market your business is to capitalize on certain trends, and St. Patrick’s Day is one of them.

Here are some ideas to help you make the most of this holiday at the very last minute.

1. Run a “Wear Green” Deal

This one is easy to implement if you have a brick-and-mortar store. It can be a little trickier if your business is 100% online, but you can still do it.

If you regularly see your customers, post on social media and let everyone know that you’re offering 10% off for anyone who receives services or purchases products today if they come in wearing green.

If your business is online, you can run a similar promotion that gives your customers a chance to promote your brand publicly.

Ask your customers to take a picture of themselves wearing green, post it on any social media platform, and tag your business. You can offer them any deal you choose in exchange.

2. Send Out a Happy St. Patrick’s Day Email

Email marketing is a fantastic way to get the word out about your business. Why not take advantage of the holiday and send out an email blast to everyone on your list?

You can use the email to simply wish them a Happy St. Patrick’s Day or even offer them a discount as a part of a special.

St. Patrick’s Day is such a fun holiday, and it gives you a great excuse to touch base with your audience.

3. Write Up a St. Patrick’s Day Blog Post

Just like we did here, write up a quick blog post for your business blog that’s focused on this holiday.

You can talk about everything from what this day means to you or your business to special events that are happening in your area.

Whatever you do, don’t forget to share about it on your business social media pages so you can drive more traffic to your site.

4. Announce a St. Patrick’s Day Social Media Contest

Everyone loves a contest!

Come up with a prize, which could be a discount for products or services, or you could give something away for free.

Announce on your social media pages that you’re hosting a giveaway and get people to enter by doing any combination of the following:

  • Liking the post

  • Sharing the post

  • Commenting on the post
