It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And if you’re in retail, you’re undoubtedly trying to sell as much as you can before Christmas.
The BIG DAY is just over a week away, but that doesn’t mean you can’t do a few things to improve your marketing efforts for that final push.
Here are some tips to help.
Tip #1: Invest in Geofencing
Geofencing is a paid ad marketing tactic that allows you to target customers based on their locations. Here’s an example.
Let’s say you’re enjoying a delicious lunch at your local Olive Garden. But TGIFridays wants your business, so they’ve set up geofencing around an area that includes the Olive Garden restaurant you’re having lunch in. When you check your phone, you see an ad from TGIFridays featuring a juicy steak, which you suddenly have a craving for. You decide to make a plan to visit TGIFridays the following week.
And that’s how it works! It’s a quick way to target people who are likely to buy what you have to offer.
Tip #2: Run a Special and Blast it on Social Media
Your social media pages should be filled with information your customers find valuable; especially during the holiday season.
If you want to make a last push to get your numbers up, why not set up a special and create posts on your social media pages? Target the pages where you have the most followers.
You could even try running a targeted ad on your most engaging pages. Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram are always great choices, and you’re likely to get a lot of positive feedback from your audience - and an increase in your sales.
Tip #3: Send Out an E-Newsletter
Even if email marketing hasn’t been your thing, now is a great time to start!
Most businesses have their customers’ emails and there are a lot of great email marketing platforms that are 100% free for you to use to market your products or services.
If you’ve got some fantastic deals, email your customer base about them. We recommend using Canva to create some eye-catching graphics to highlight sales or specials.
If your email marketing campaign is successful, it sets a great precedent for you to begin using this advertising tactic next year.
Did you know that most customers prefer to hear from the brands they want to buy from on a weekly basis?
