
Ahh...the New Year! As a business owner, thoughts of 2023 may be invoking brand-new ideas, thoughts, and plans in your mind.
There is so much in store for your business in the year ahead! At Colwell Creative Content, Inc., we want nothing more than for you to be successful in every endeavor in 2023.
As we close out 2022, we’re here to offer you some helpful advice on how to make the most of your marketing efforts in January and beyond.
Resolution #1: Focus on Local SEO
If you haven’t been focusing on local SEO on your website yet, now is the time!
Local SEO is huge in the digital marketing world right now. And in case you’re not entirely sure what that means, let me explain.
Local SEO means optimizing your site for your service areas. Let’s say you own a mobile dog grooming company. You live in Corning, NY, but you offer your services to Elmira, Horseheads, Big Flats, and you’ve even gone to Rochester a few times.
Yet your site says nothing about any of those cities; it only lists Corning as your location.
In your case, optimizing your site for local SEO would involve adding some service/sales pages for those other cities. Written correctly, those service pages would allow your business to show up in the SERPs (search engine results pages) when people in those other cities Google what you do.
Local SEO is important, which is why it’s number one on our list. Here’s a video I made about a client located in Doylestown, PA who now ranks for Philadelphia, even though that’s not where they’re located.
We’ll also be adding our own location pages very soon because we practice what we preach.
Resolution #2: Implement Ad Marketing
Across all industries, the average conversion rate for paid ads is 82%.

Imagine if you began using targeted, paid ads to increase sales and your growth only amounted to half that this year. That’s a lot of growth!
Like local SEO, ad marketing is also gaining steam, and that’s a trend that’s expected to continue in 2023.
You see digital ads all the time. You may have even seen some from your competitors.
Yep. They’re doing ads. Just about every business is now. The question is, what ads are right for you?
It depends on where your customer base is.
Because of some strategic partnerships we’ve formed in the last part of 2022, we have access to all types of ads, including:
Facebook ads
TikTok ads
Digital display ads
Google ads
Instagram ads
There are a lot more, but you get the idea. We can even help you with billboard ads!
Resolution #3: Add to Your Social Media Repertoire
By now, you’ve probably identified your favorite social media sites, and that’s where your business hangs out most of the time.
But in 2023, growing your business requires a little bit more effort on your part as far as social media goes. And it’s not all that difficult to add 1 or 2 more. For example:
If you’re already on Facebook, why not start up an Instagram account too? Since they’re both owned by the same company (Meta), you can post the same thing to both at once.
If you’re killing it on TikTok, why not repurpose those videos for Instagram Reels? They’ll also be visible on Facebook.
If you’re doing well on LinkedIn, why not try out Alignable too? That’s another B2B platform where you can get connected with businesses that need what you have to offer. And it’s still pretty new, so it’s not quite as saturated.
If the thought of expanding your social media marketing efforts makes you nervous, it could just be that you’re not sure where you belong.
