When is the last time you Googled your products or services?
Maybe you’ve never done it, and now you’re intrigued. What will you find when you type in your keywords? Will your business listing come up as the first result? Maybe you find you have to click through a few pages in order to find your business name.
If that’s the case, your first thought is likely to be, Wow! That was a lot of work! Exactly. That’s what potential customers are thinking too.
Most people don’t take the time to venture on to page three or four of Google when they’re looking for something they need or want. If they can’t find it on page one, they either try new keywords, or they choose one of the options they’re given. Most of the time, those options are in the top five search engine results.
That’s rather disheartening, isn’t it?
If you haven’t Googled your products or services before, take a moment and do it now. If you’re not happy with what you find, there are a few fixes you can make that will change your results.
· Check out your homepage. Are your keywords there? Is there enough content on your homepage to catch the attention of the search engines?
· Check out your blog…oh…you don’t have one? That might be your problem. Search engines are constantly crawling the web, looking for content that’s new and engaging. Your blog is a vital part of getting your website seen.
· Update your Contact Us page. Let people know who you are in a personal way, and you’ll invite them to know more about your business.
· Get active on social media. Those social media signals are so important, and Facebook and Twitter are vital to growing your business.
